Well, some work has gone into the site over the past month, with more to come. As mentioned in my last post, I have a lot of big plans, which I hope to begin working on soon. While grad school has to take first priority, that doesn't mean that I am going to just let the site sit idle. I have a lot of stuff in concept, and every idea is able to be done. So, keep an eye out for that.

As far as the latest news in the tech industry goes, since I like to keep everyone up-to-date there, it has all been about image lately. And, in addition to image, it has been about outlandish exaggerations. Articles on ZDNet recently have claimed that Apple turned Microsoft into "the next IBM" which is not quite the truth. Considering Windows 7 (and JUST 7) is installed on 1 in 10 PCs in the WORLD, I'd say Microsoft has quite a dominant presence in the OS market. And, that doesn't even include their Natal project, set to debut at E3 in a few weeks, their XBox 360 gaming platform, Office, ERP and CRM systems, SQL Server, Visual Studio, BizTalk Server, SharePoint Server, Windows Phone 7 coming in late 2010, and a host of other products present and future, I'd say that Microsoft's days are far from numbered. Apple has fad and image. There is something to be said for that. But, fads are passing. For those who don't know, Apple looked to be the leader in the beginning. But, Microsoft pulled one out and took the dominant spot. Apple spent the better part of the next two decades struggling just to stay in business. Now, with stiff competition from Google (mainly with Android competing against the iPhone in the mobile market), Apple stands to find itself in for another struggle. In addition, with its stiffening of rules on developers, its preventing an iTunes account from being both a developer and a publisher in the iBooks store, and its increasingly anti-competitive behavior, I'd say Apple is about to see its second explosion, courtesy of the same guy who caused the first one, Steve Jobs. History has a habit of repeating itself. Remember that in a year or two from now. If I'm wrong, I will gladly post again, referring to these comments, fully willing to admit that I was wrong in my predictions. Just keep in mind that getting to the top of the mountain is easier than staying there. Microsoft has shown that it can withstand the test of time. Apple has yet to be given that test, so we can't say yet whether or not it could pass that test.
